RE: new kitten questions

I'm not familiar with all the rules on this forum, but I am pretty sure that if you use the word kitten in a thread, you must immediately post a picture of said kitten. I'm just trying to help out here. I would hate for this thread to be closed because it didn't follow the rules.

RE: What is your dream RV for traveing with cats?

I would love a cassette litter box that you could slide in from the outside or within a storage bay. Just like the cassette porto-potties that you find in pop-up trailers.

RE: FELINE ADOPTION PROCESS

Get a motion detection sprinkler. Set it up next to his favourite spots (where he's been marking). Leave it on for a week or two. The offending Tom will get the message. We used this to lessen the stress on our older male cat who was starting to have problems defending his home from the neighborhood Toms. We would never want to hurt another person's cat as we know what it would do to us if we lost one of our furchildren. (We do not let ours roam. Indoor only. Outdoors with limits.) Next steps would be to sprinkle cayenne pepper on the posts the Tom frequents; sooner or later he will associate your house as a place of non-comfort.

RE: Help Please Rabbits everywhere!!

You might want to try the Fox Urine spray. I have heard of people using it to fend of other obnoxious creatures. Regardless, I am sure the smell of a known predator's urine will scare off most rodents.

RE: bang - - Crash

Our problem is not the game of "Thundering Herd of Elephants" or "Does it Bounce or Break?", it is the 3:00am booty calls between the two youngest cats. Dolce will caterwaul to her brother until he wakes up. I don't know why she does this, they are both fixed.

RE: Canadians Importing from US-Combining Personal Exemptions?

Everytime we have crossed back into Canada by road (have done it several times by air... completely different issues), we have claimed our deduction together. As long as you are under the limit they usually won't care.

RE: Credit Card Use in US by Canadians

We have always used a CC for our purchases in the US. We only had the Postal Code problem once, after that I realized I needed to pay inside when I saw that. The exchange rate is usually a point better than what the Bank will give for a cash exchange. Also,as an anedote, we travelled to Idaho this fall with an Aunt and Uncle. The credit card company saw a list of transaction leading from Edmonton, AB through Idaho to Spokane, WA. The card was flagged as suspect since in their mind it appearred that someone was working their way south on my credit. A quick phone call at the store sorted it all out.

RE: The cost to attend an RV show

I don't know about the RV shows in the US, but I will assume that they are run the same way as the ones up here. Both sides get charged, because the RV Show itself is a money maker. From an inside source, Dealers are charged a fairly hefty fee to be able to show their stock and showcase their company. Some of the dealers here have some sort RV Supplies and Gadget section. For some of the Dealers this is how they attempt to breakeven on the RV SHow Fees. As for thinking that the profit should cover the cover charges, there is no difference to the dealer whether he sells it to you at the show or at his dealership. I know that some of the dealers dislike the RV Shows but can't let their competitors get an upperhand by not showing up. My wife and I love the RV Show. The first one we went to cost us $20,024. We try to go every year; to see the new models, to see what gadgets have come out, and to see what bargains we can find on things we have on our wishlists.
